Abstract

  • The Talon Award is considered the highest honor given to a graduate of Georgia Southern. The winner represents excellence in their career field, in service to their alma mater and in service to their community. Jimmy Childre Jr. of Sandersville, Georgia, is the first winner of the award, and his friends and colleagues say no one deserves it more. Childre founded his own Ford dealership, won numerous awards, served as a leader in his community and traveled all over the world to continue his education, including Harvard University, and the University of Oxford in England.
