Abstract
- This Georgia Southern University Faculty Spotlight features Alma Stevenson, Ph.D., an associate professor of literacy in the College of Education. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in critical literacy, strategies, assessment and literacy in the content areas.
- In her research, she examines K-8 educational policies and curricula that support the literacy and science education of underrepresented populations with an emphasis on Latinos and African-Americans. In this spotlight, she talks about her research efforts on literacy programs for children of migrant workers.
