Abstract

The Georgia Southern University Fred and Dinah Gretsch School of Music will present "Strings in Autumn," as the season opener of the Georgia Southern Symphony String Camerata, conducted by Dr. Steven Elisha on Sunday, October 2, at 2:30 PM in the Carol A. Carter Recital Hall, Statesboro Campus. The program includes Edvard Grieg's Holberg Suite, Antonio Vivaldi's "Autumn Concerto" from the Four Seasons and J. S. Bach's Double Concerto in C Minor for violin and cello (originally written for 2 harpsichords and later for oboe and violin). Dr. Larisa Elisha, Georgia Southern Violin professor, is featured in the Vivaldi and Bach Concerti, together with cellist Dr. Steven Elisha and Dr. Jonathan Murphy, harpsichord-continuo. The concert is free and open to the public.
