Abstract for the conference program
This is a preliminary report on a 2013/14 funded mini-STEM grant initiative that was undertaken at Georgia College. The main goal is to improve student learning in genetics, a four-credit course taken early in the biology major; this course includes a two-hour weekly lab. We will report on our progress toward a backward design from learning objectives to an evaluated redesign of labs and related lecture-based activities and present some preliminary assessment data from the fall semester.
