Abstract
Scholars recognize the high impact potential of student faculty research in teaching and learning ( Kuh and ODonnell, 2013). This SoTL research included STEM and Psychology Departments at a HBCU University . The research goal was to increase awareness of alcohol prevention and university and community partners were involved. Students provided a peer and computer based intervention to all freshman orientation classes and other prevention programming . This presentation will focus on the organization and implementation of the project, research findings and how the campus and community partners facilitated University policy change, capacity building and student leadership
