Creating and Using Rubrics for a Program Assessment System
Abstract
The increased emphasis on accountability in higher education reinforces the need for a program assessment system that informs future course content and instructional practices. This session presents the fundamentals of effective analytic rubric development for program assessment. The process used by one institution to gain consensus among faculty for the use of common rubrics across courses and the process for analyzing and discussing data will be shared. Examples of the electronic data collection system and electronic dissemination of data will be provided during the session.
