“Anyone in the Room?”: Virtual Classroom Experience for Higher Education Students
Abstract
Discussion will focus on instructional delivery through a Virtual Learning Environment System (VLES). VLES is an online virtual classroom that simulates the actual classroom situation. In the presentation, the findings and implications of the research study on the effectiveness of the implementation of VLES in teaching higher education students will be presented, as well as the difficulties encountered by the students during the implementation. Significant relationship between the difficulties encountered by the students and their level of computer literacy is also determined. By demonstrating the facilities inside the virtual classroom, the participants will experience being an online student. In doing this, the participants would be able to fully understand both the instructor’s role and the student’s role in online learning, and how to maximize potential benefits for both roles.
