Marci Sawyer is the founder and CEO of Creative Childcare Systems and your behavior coach. I have over 20 years of experience with children with behavior issues. One of the biggest challenges in my life is my son that we adopted when he was two years old. One was from being bounced around from ten foster homes in 2-year spam before he came to our house. I got little to no help from the system, and pretty much was all on us to manage his behaviors. So, I came up with several strategies to put in my toolkit that I can use to manage my son when he would turn into hulk. I always had to be on my toes and ready to change my systems up as what will work one month may not work the following month. I have taken these systems and applied them in my daycare centers. There are so many kids these days that can use them. It seems like there is more and more every day. I use these systems to help my teacher manage their classrooms and be able to provide better services for the kids in their care. My methods in my behavior toolkit work for my son and my childcare kids, I want to share how to turn your kids from “Hulk to Hug” in no time.

Marcie Sawyer has worked with the children atFaithCommunityChurchin a variety of ways in the past several years.
Beginning when she was in the 9th grade and continuing throughout high school, she volunteered from September – May in AWANA, a 2-hour per week program for children. She worked with 5-8 year olds and her responsibilities included record keeping as well as supervising children during games, story time, seatwork, and song time. Marcie is now the Director of the 5-8 year old program and has a team of volunteers that she supervises.
While working in the AWANA program, Marcie has also taken on the responsibility of producing our children’s Christmas musical program. As Director, she coordinates the rehearsals, props, sets, costumes, and marketing materials necessary for a successful presentation. During this time, she also communicates effectively with parents and co-workers to complete the process.
Marcie has taught the 4 & 5 year olds in the Sunday school program since 2001 and has worked in the nursery with infants through 4 year olds. In the nursery, her duties include supervising free play activities both indoors and outdoors, snack time and diapering and bathroom necessities.
Marcie has been a dependable volunteer who is easy to work with, takes direction well and is well received by the children. I would recommend her for any position working with children.

Full Session Description
In this session, I will be training on how to manage the behaviors in your life.
1st I will talk about what causes children to act out.
2nd I will talk about what steps you can do to TURN AROUND the behaviors. I have a program called TURN AROUND.
T- THINK – You are calmly talking to the child about their feelings. You will reflect with them on what you are hearing and seeing. However, expressing their emotions are valid.
U- UTMOST – You are helping the child with the importance of the rules. You are also giving the utmost security that they are in a safe place and love.
R – REPLY – During their emotions, it is hard to think of the outcome. You will help them with question’s that help them to reply with a way to manage their crisis on their own.
N- Navigate – You will navigate them with creative ideas to help them with their emotions. The creative ideas are open-end questions, never leading them to their outcome.
With the building blocks given in the training, they will be able to walk away with new ways to manage the Hulks in their lives.
