Primary Presenter Brief Bio
Lynn lives in Decatur with her husband (and business partner), Bob Watkins. They each have a 27 year old daughter (both named Laura). Lynn also has two twin stepsons (age 44). She is an active family child care provider who is also the author of her own blog that is circulated to her child care parents, fellow providers, and other ECE professionals throughout the country. She is a nationally recognized child care expert who, along with Amy C. Baker, authored the book Circles of Love (Redleaf Press 1998) and Relationships, The Heart of Quality Care (NAEYC 2004).
Lynn received her ECE degree from GSU and earned her masters in Educational Leadership from Bank Street in NYC. Her family child care home is NAFCC Accredited and her preschool is Bank Street-inspired. Lynn has served on numerous executive boards including NAFCC, GAYC, and GAFDC. She edited the first series of Accreditation newsletters and helped develop the original NAFCC Accreditation Commission in the 1990’s. In addition to fulfilling the role of secretary for the PFCCA of Georgia; she also serves on the NAFCC Accreditation Standards Review Team and on NAEYC’s TYC Editorial Review Board.
She frequently shares her passion for relationships in family child care by presenting at local, state, and national conferences; and delivers keynotes addresses and seminars around the country. Fortunately, she and Bob love to travel.
