Primary Presenter Brief Bio

Cynthia has been a Pre-K Lead Education Technician with CYSS Ft. Stewart since 2002. She has also been an active training facilitator for over 15 years. She has partnered with multiple entities and organizations to provide active, hands-on training for thousands of educators and parents across the state, including Child Care Resource and Referral, Chatham Childcare Collaborative, Parent University, and Early Learning College.

Brief Session Description

Interactive workshop to demonstrate and have participants experience various options for teaching preschool children health and nutrition information though active physical activities and games.

Full Session Description

This session will be interactive from start to finish. Participants will be engaging in various active games and activities that can be used with preschool children to help teach health and nutrition concepts and information. Facilitator will reiterate the importance of teaching young children to understand good nutrition and how to lead healthy lives, and doing so in a fun and engaging manner so that the children are engaged and remember the information. Even better is learning these healthy habits through active physical games and activities that count towards suggested daily activity totals! Numerous activities will be introduced and modeled, and participants will actually get to play these games during the course. Collaboration among participants will be required to discuss variations to games chosen that can be used, and participants will receive copies of these games/activity instructions to take back to their programs for future use.
