What is STEAM?
STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, art and math. Words like science and engineering can make some of us a little nervous, but there's no reason to be. The Recycle Your Way to Steam activities are designed to be accessible for both kids and adults!
The National Head Start Association has partnered with Lakeshore Learning Materials to provide easy and fun activities that introduce young children to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. Head Start teachers can incorporate these play-based activities into classrooms and target multiple domains from the new Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework—including Approaches to Learning, Scientific Reasoning, Social and Emotional Development, and Mathematics Development. Thousands of children have already used these engaging activities!
