Description of Lecture

This title is a quotation by a British writer on geopolitics at the turn of the last century. The lecture will attempt to define “Eastern Europe” and deal with its place in Europe and the world. Both World Wars began in Eastern Europe, and both the Cold War and the savagery of “ethnic cleansing” centered there. The relationship between Eastern Europe and the United States will also be explored in this lecture. Arens—History
