Description of Lecture
The rise of Japan, the economic integration of Europe, and the deindustrialization of the United States have transformed the American economy. Almost every day a U.S. company is forced to trade its leading-edge technology to a foreign corporation for cash to stay alive. At issue is how the United States will face this global competition. The lecture will survey the various approaches which have been suggested to help the United States maintain its position in the global marketplace.
