Description of Lecture
Lorie Roth, Dept. of Languages and Literature, will trace the exploits of Arthur, King of Camelot, and his Knights of the Round Table from the Middle Ages to the 1980's. Beginning with Sir Thomas Malory's Morte D'Arthur, published in 1485, and continuing on 500 years to the film The Natural--starring Robert Redford as the aging slugger for the New York Knights baseball team--each historical era has adapted the Arthurian legend to suit its needs.
