Abstract or Description
Poster presentation at the annual SoTL Commons Conference, Savannah, GA.
The purpose of the proposed study is to determine the relationship between students’ graduate application materials and their performance in a speech-language pathology graduate program. Current admission criteria may be based on several measures including overall undergraduate GPA and Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores; however, evidence suggests that students with well-developed metacognitive skills may be more successful in rigorous academic pursuits than other students. Findings from the proposed study may help faculty develop an evidence-based graduate admissions process for selecting applicants with the greatest potential for achieving academic success.
