Purpose
The Board of Regents has established that: “Each institution shall establish definite and stated criteria, consistent with Board of Regents’ policies, the Academic and Student Affairs Handbook and the statutes of the institution, against which the performance of each faculty member will be evaluated. The criteria shall include evaluation of instruction, student success activities, research/scholarship, and service as is appropriate to the faculty member’s institution, school or college, and department, and responsibilities” (Board of Regents Policy Manual, § 8.3.5.1). Tenure-track faculty evaluations include annual evaluation, three-year pre-tenure evaluation, tenure evaluation, promotion evaluation and post-tenure evaluation. Non-tenure track faculty evaluations include annual evaluation, third-year review, promotion evaluation, and fifth-year follow up reviews (Academic and Student Affairs Handbook, §4.4).
