3D LiDAR Model of the Blue-Creek Area in Statesboro

Poster 221

Laser scanning is a procedure done by advanced remote scanning instruments (scanners). • The instrument captures the spatial geometry of the surrounding area to creates a large point cloud. • Each coordinate point of the point cloud model contains spatial coordinates (x, y, z), color coordinates (RGB), and light intensity data. • In summary, 3D laser scanning is the process of capturing proportions of a physical object into a digital, three-dimensional representation consisting of a point cloud.
