Background
Piezoelectricity refers to the electric charge that accumulates in a crystalline material due to mechanical stress [1].
Currently, ocean wave energy is harvested using turbines and buoys.
Waves can be used to produce piezoelectric energy by temporarily deforming the piezoelectric crystal.
