The campus provides a successful model for improving the educational outcomes, experiences and expectations for At - Risk young men within the city of Dallas. Students from various cultural, religious and socio - economic backgrounds are brought together to redefine societies view of their role as students, young men and leaders for tomorrow.

The campus has a specific focus on the intellectual, moral, physical, social and emotional growth of the young men who choose to attend. The major focus being the development of their academic and leadership skills at and away from the campus. Therefore, providing an educational laboratory experience for the young men's transition into manhood where they are expected to become better Men, Fathers and Leaders for our communities.

The moral imperative to educate and save the young men within our communities has never had a higher call to action. Come learn what “The” Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy in Dallas ISD is doing to Save Our Young Men one student at a time through their holistic approach to education.
Summary
The campus mission statement is “develop young men into impactful leaders through the development of their Intellectual, Moral, Physical, Social, and Emotional skills for the global society of tomorrow. Additionally, the campus is designed to develop better husbands, fathers and leaders for our families and communities.
The campus is designed to prepare young men for manhood with an emphasis on leadership development, academics and service. This is provided within a holistic instructional model inclusive of college preparatory skill development, accelerated instruction and extended school year model.
Evidence
Prior to the campus opening; successful public, charter and private schools were visited and studied to incorporate best practices to serve our young men. During the research of each campus Principals, teachers, students, parents, alumni and community members were spoken to in order to gain a true 360 perception of each campus.
Additionally, Single Gendered Specialist were and are consulted to provide Professional Development for the Faculty, Staff and Parents to create an optimal learning environment and experience for our students.

Biographical Sketch
He is the Founding Principal of the campus and previously served as an Administrator at the Elementary, Middle and High School Levels.
He is one of the Founding Teachers at the campus and previously served as a Central Office Administrator and Teacher (Elementary, Middle and High School) for the last 40 years.
He is one of the Founding Teachers at the campus and has served as a Teacher (Elementary and Middle) for the last 18 years.
She is one of the Founding Teachers at the campus and has served as a Teacher (Elementary, Middle and High School) for the last 16 years.
