Relevance
Guilt, shame and anger are destructive forces in our world: to the children we serve, their communities and even the adults who look after them. This "heart" project is part of caring curriculum. The student is empowered to look within, look ahead and stop looking back. A life-changing experience, this project includes character education and life skills--listening to others in a trusting circle, realizing none of us are alone, but that we are each responsible to ourselves, our creator, our communities.
Brief Program Description
Looking inward, outward and ever forward, attendees will experience a hands-on workshop that changes lives through acceptance of the past, celebration of the "here I am now" and tomorrow can be mine--if I look in the mirror.
Summary
In today's ever-connected world, students are bombarded with reminders of their past, daily distractions and tomorrow's temptations. This hands-on project allows students to look at themselves truly in a mirror to identify the behavior(s) or consequences of yesterday. They learn meaningful, tangible ways to "let go." Next, our at-risk youth toss away in some manner this weight. Now, today. How do we live in today, the now? And in what ways do at-youth risk meaningfully set goals? As part of this workshop, attendees will hear from successful YTT attendees whilst participating in their own what was, what is and what WILL be.
Evidence
The counselor or teacher of at-risk youth will see how effective trust circles, meaningful reflection and SMART goal setting "work." Evidenced by the years after testimonials of the students you see in photos as "the at-risk", where they are now and how they relate and still use this technique.

Biographical Sketch
The City of St. Petersburg Exchange Club's "Woman of the Year" also has been ESE Inclusion Teacher of the Year and the Tampa Bay Times Teacher of the Year. Join Tracey Keim, owner of Sunshine Project and teacher at St. Petersburg High School as she guides you on the path of self-discovery. By experiencing the YTT workshop, you can share with your youth! Tracey has taught for more than 17 visits in Hong Kong, China and Macau. Her focus: the throwaways, the frustrated, the shy and the wall flowers. Even the gregarious student gets something from this experience.
