Brief Program Description
This workshop will provide a model for providing a Comprehensive School Counseling Program will serve as a catalyst for improving student achievement. This workshop is appropriate for K - 12 educators; specifically Administrators and School Counselors.
Summary
This presentation will provide a framework for working with student support personel to increase student achievment. School administrators and counselors can work together with other student support personnel to develop a team that is focused on student growth and intervention. Tools for monitoring progress and intervention will be provided.
Evidence
Based on the ASCA National Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs, the model has proven effective in increasing student achievment and reducing achievment gaps.
Biographical Sketch
Mrs. Kopec currently serves as an Elementary Principal in Onslow County Schools. She has worked in the field of education for over 20 years. Prior to that, she served as an Adolescent Program and Prevention Specialist. She has presented at numerous national, state, and local conferences.
Ms. Atkins currently serves as an Elementary School Counselor in Onslow County Schools. She has over 20 years of experience as a School Counselor. She has presented at many state and local conferences. She currently serves as the Eastern Region Vice-President for the NC School Counselor Association.
