Abstract
Inequalities, local dependence and orderings of random variables or their distribution functions are presented. The notions of local dependence, stochastic orderings are studied and compared. Inequalities and association in ordinal contingency table as well as applications of families of distribution functions satisfying the notions discussed are presented.
