Abstract or Description

The importance of teamwork and the ability to interact and work in a team has always been emphasized, and technology is being used to facilitate teamwork activities. The role of technology in teamwork has significantly increased in recent years and has changed functioning in a team and teamwork activities. Technology has made working in a virtual environment a reality, and has made it possible to form and work in virtual teams. Furthermore, technology has changed the way team members interact and work together whether they are in co-located or virtual teams, and has changed the way team members collaborate and communicate. A survey is conducted to explore perceptions, awareness, knowledge and usage of different technologies in teamwork. The awareness, knowledge and usage of different technologies in teamwork should increase interactions among the team members resulting in better collaborations and consequently better team outcomes.
