Description

In 80% of postsurgical patients, moderate to severe pain is experienced. Literature on implementing music to provide pain relief during the postoperative phase was investigated. Evidence suggests music decreases perceived pain in postoperative patients who underwent nasal septal, open heart, total knee replacement, or general orthopedic surgeries requiring hospitalization.
