Abstract

My Young Adult novel is a fictional story that follows the journey of young Harper from when she meets her abuser to the aftermath of the relationship. There are scenes with Harper’s therapist integrated throughout the story, which also makes the novel about the main character’s recovery and her coming to the realization of the situation she is in. My novel offers a fresh take on educating others on emotional abuse so that people can recognize and understand the signs, and it also combats against victim blaming.
