Abstract

This work of science fiction follows a young woman, Elliot, who is an intern aboard the Brahma Mission. This mission aims to begin the stages of terraforming on an alien planet called Khandava. A previous mission with the same intent had already failed, and everyone on Earth believed everyone on board that mission died. In the hundred years separating the two mission, the humans from the first mission evolved to be unrecognizable creatures. Elliot is at odds with the Captain in regards to how to interact with the creatures. She wants to communicate with the creatures and work with them, while the Captain wants to use them as free labor in the terraforming process.
