Abstract
A Thing of Beauty is a Joy Forever: Its Loveliness Increases; It Will Never Pass Into Nothingness is a series of short, nonfiction essays attempting to illustrate my perception of beauty. Each essay is a mosaic of perfectly fragmented, assorted small pieces of a much larger picture as though constructed out of antiquity's tesserae: small, different colored pieces. They are profound in their solidarity, but even more weight bearing when subjected to a compilation. This piece attempts to expose multiple narratives through resonant paradoxes: using beauty to imply a multiplicity of meanings impossible to parse, but implying definite and retrievable meanings cloaked at first until revealed as an external mirror to the internal experience.
