Abstract

COVID-19’s Influence on Teacher Morale

The appearance of COVID-19 marks a historical event. This pandemic influenced the emotional state of many, especially teachers. COVID-19 means remote learning; remote learning means no face to face positive reinforcement. We need a new approach.

The intention of this proposal is to heighten awareness of morale, a continual concern based on teacher turnover rate, high stakes testing, and more factors, but this pandemic has shed more light on the challenge from many stakeholders’ point of view.

I have gathered and analyzed data in reference to the influence COVID-19 has had on teacher morale.

Through learning from others, and analyzing my findings, this initiative will outline the challenges that COVID-19 has brought to morale and propose ideas for how to overcome this obstacle for the, “Power and Possibilities for Public Good.”

Empowering teachers’ morale will enhance the teaching and learning process and inspire teachers to more effectively differentiate, narrowing the achievement gap.

I plan to report my pending research at the conference and ask for feedback moving forward with intentions of writing a publication. It would behoove all school districts to heighten morale, benefiting students. When is public good so important, but when educating children?
