Abstract
Studies will be shared that continue to show that girls enrolled in middle school math have difficulty with their math homework and often find that their moms feel they can be of little or no help to their daughters in such an endeavor. With this in mind, a Saturday math camp will be described that was purposefully created for selected girls in middle school. The girls who came with their moms to the GRU Literacy Center wished to be shown and to practice specific strategies that would be beneficial to both the girls and their moms at math homework time. Methods employed and findings so far will be analyzed, discussed and recommendations will be made based on research so far.
In this round table session, the presenter will share a research project that is still in progress. Presenter will interact actively with attendees in a scholarly discussion in order to solicit feedback to make the project even more worthwhile.
Keywords
