Abstract

Education is packed with emotions, some of which are displayed and some of which are hidden in an attempt to appear in control. Many of the emotions identified in prior research has to do more with emotions felt because of factors outside of the classroom. It appears most teachers feel a sense of pride when it comes to their own classrooms but the negative emotions teachers feel are due to outside forces. Some of these outside forces include administrative tasks, curriculum limitations, and relationships with those outside of the classroom. Teachers are constantly on guard and teacher efficacy has become a big issue amongst teachers. This is an important issue to me and as I continue my research by researching the emotions teachers have pertaining to teacher evaluation, I would not be surprised if teacher efficacy is a leading factor in how they feel.
