Presentation Abstract

Research shows time and again that Social-Emotional Learning as a foundation to positive school climate keeps children safer, healthier and more ready to learn. SEL as a tool for PBIS initiatives supports staff and families to build shared language and strategies as well. Finding funding and support to do it with fidelity is a far greater challenge! Join this session to learn how one Georgia district navigated the annual funding opportunity from the Dept of Children Family Services Prevention Community Support to implement Tier 1 SEL along with bullying prevention and child protection programming, and the positive impacts for their students and school communities. With millions awarded over the last 7 years and thousands of schools better supported, details for the upcoming year's grant will also be shared.
