Attitude Avengers-Infinity Supports: Integrating systems to promote positive behavior.

Presentation Abstract

Oftentimes schools have several student support system in place, working in isolation, which makes it difficult to positively shift the culture and climate of the school. During this presentation, participants will learn how to maximize the impact of their Positive Behavior Support program by integrating a variety of existing support systems through collaboration and strategic planning. Presenters will identify key support systems within schools and provide examples of how those systems can work together to achieve the goals of the PBIS program. They will also demonstrate the critical need and rationale for intentional PBIS planning in order to increase the school culture and climate rating. Further, to highlight the impact of mental health within the school, presenters will describe common mental health manifestations that may affect school culture, and share a variety of strategies that effectively address those concerns. Lastly, they will address the critical need of engaging school administration and key stakeholders in making positive behavior supports a TOP priority, as well as provide collaboration and engagement strategies. Attendees will leave equipped to develop an individualized plan in order to integrate systems of support and be empowered to facilitate this collaboration with the goal of positively impacting the school’s climate and culture.
