Donated in 2010 to then Armstrong State University by the Friends of Johnny Mercer through the group’s president Dianne S. Thurman and Nancy Gerard, Mercer’s niece. The Friends of Johnny Mercer, Inc. is “dedicated to perpetuating the lyrics, music, life and memory of John Herndon Mercer” (from a brochure in the collection)
