Abstract
This study was undertaken to provide a circumscription of the genus Ficus in Venezuela. The material studied was representative of the collections that have been made throughout the country. A great portion of Venezuela is apparently unexplored botanically. With this in mind I have attempted to do as complete a study as possible with the material available with fully realizing the many limitations. this circumscription is intended as a starting point for future work, not a stopping place.
