Abstract

An understanding of the behavior of the dynamics in a laser system is necessary to determine whether special techniques may be needed for a desired operation of the laser. The purpose of this study is to investigate the analytic and numerical properties of the dynamic variables in a four-level laser system. The investigation of the model includes:

(1) a general description of the mathematical model of a general four-level laser system

(2) a stability analysis of the system of ordinary differential equations that comprise the model.

(3) a numerical analysis of the mathematical model.

A description of the model will be presented along with some of the analytic results and numerical results specific to Titanium doped Sapphire lasers.
