Abstract
This is the story of the Jewish community of Savannah from their original settlement in the earliest days of the Georgia colony to the middle of the nineteenth century. With their history rooted in colonial times they have nevertheless maintained their identity as a people while integrating themselves into the life of the general community and making substantial contributions to its growth and welfare.
