Abstract
CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture) provides a conceptual software bus for distributed objects systems. We can make use of this software bus in the design and implementation of a distributed computing system that does distributed scientific computations. The system, which is named PCB (Parallel Component Bus), is object-oriented in nature and independent ofprogramming languages and platforms. This document describes the architecture and the performance of the PCB distributed computing system using a parallel computation example.
