Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore four alumni experiences in a predominantly all-White, male private school in Savannah, Ga. A qualitative case study was utilized for this study. This research approach is well suited for the study as several artifacts from the alumni and the school were collected and analyzed. Data was collected from the four alumni in the form of an interview and survey. In contrast, other data were collected from meeting notes from the school’s diversity team and yearbook images from various years. Ultimately, it is hoped this study will contribute to the limited research available on African American experiences in private schools, encouraging private schools to review and increase knowledge of the African American students who attend their schools.
