Abstract
Collective management softwares such as Artlid, Artstacks, Argus, MicroMARC and others of that kind, offer functionalities that are required to house all sorts of archival data, but these different softwares come with a degree of limited functionality in reference to the amount of flexibility as they afford administrator access to create and edit custom settings. With the ever increasing challenge of providing an efficient system that are cost-effective, easy to manage and easy to install; is at present as a significant challenge in this scenario.
This manuscript discusses the benefits and the specific use of virtualization technology as a platform as a service, with a presentation of how collection management and data archival are able to serve the purpose of data archiving and producing this data on-demand. This manuscript discusses utilizing virtualization as an overhead cost reduction model.
