Abstract
Due to its small environmental footprint and global accessibility, advanced renewable energy storage systems will provide a basis for future power distribution systems. Traditional energy storage systems are locally located (decentralized) within the distribution generation system which limits its utilization. In this paper, a novel centralized energy storage model for photovoltiac distributed generation systems is proposed to improve the utilization of these systems. To validate this model, a grid dependency comparison of the proposed and the current decentralized storage models is presented using various synthetic load profiles.
