Abstract
In this paper, the viability of photovoltaic electricity in southern Georgia is investigated. To achieve this goal, a case study was conducted involving a shopping mall as a proposed site for the photovoltaic system. Historical data related to weather conditions, available solar radiation and power demand were investigated and as a result a grid-connected photovoltaic system was designed to provide green energy for the facility. Several engineering factors and economic consideration involved in the design process were also thoroughly discussed in this paper.
