Abstract
Mentoring at its simplest is helping an individual adjust to life’s transitions. This means that mentoring relationships are not confined to academics, but also vocational studies and even life itself. Mentoring also can be defined as the “process of teaching and learning that takes place within a … reciprocal relationship between two [individuals] positioned on different levels.”1 Essentially, a mentor is the master and the mentee is the apprentice. The mentor guides the mentee through the knowledge, skills, and intricacies of the profession. Through this interaction, the mentee can become a fully knowledgeable and functioning professional.
