Abstract or Description
Holistic education has a long history of reminding us to focus on the spiritual, emotional, and intellectual needs of a child. Recently, the literature has taken a shift to remind us the importance of culture, too. Using feminist standpoint theory informed by critical race theory and postpositivist realism as our theoretical framework, this proposed session will highlight the importance of including multicultural education for social justice and the consequent pedagogical strategies that emerge when practicing holistic education on the elementary level.
