Retirement, the Archive, and the Scholarly Life.
Abstract
This panel will continue a discussion of what it means to be a scholar. How does a scholar retire? What is retired? Does a scholar stop reading and when asked by someone if they have read a recent book and the scholar says “Oh no I do not read anymore I am retired.” What is the archive that is left by the scholar and what might it mean? These are the fundamental questions I will ask the panelists.
