Presenter Biography

Brenna Salverson is a junior at Georgia Southern University where she is double majoring in writing & linguistics and philosophy with a religious studies concentration and minoring in graphic design. Her cowboy poem “Live Outside Your Skin” appeared in Calliope in 2021. She was nominated to represent Georgia Southern University for AWP’s Intro Journals Project’s poetry category in 2020 and 2021. She was a finalist for Georgia Southern’s Brittany “Ally” Harbuck Memorial Scholarship in 2021. She is a co-emcee for Burning Swamp and loves listening to all the creative writers’ works.

Notes and Artist's Statement

Writing is a million things, some of it straightforward and some of it not so much. Writing has the capacity to take us anywhere, to do anything. It allows us to take perspectives that we normally can’t or perhaps don’t want to view. It mixes ideas and subjects that don’t seem like they should come together. But most of all, writing is thinking. As such, my creative works reflect my musings and wonderings and what ifs.
