The Philosopher's Stone is a student-produced philosophical discussion newsletter. In Fall quarter of 1995, several students interested in discussing Philosophy began to meet as a conversation group. On October 29, 1996, the Philosophical Discussion Group (PDG) was recognized as an official student organization of Armstrong State University by the Student Activities Committee. The PDG provides an informal atmosphere for Armstrong students, faculty and staff, and their guests, to discuss philosophical issues, gain knowledge and insight into those issues through examination of theories, ideas, texts, the world and oneself. The Philosopher’s Stone newsletter announces the themes of the PDG and archives the conversations of that group.
