About the Collection
Collection preserves Commencement Programs, 1937-2017. Programs for Armstrong’s graduation ceremonies. Drawn from President’s records and collected by Lane Library in record group 652-653. Also included are a few related programs: the first joint graduate program with Savannah State in 1972, the dedication of the new campus in 1966, appreciation day for Governor Sanders in 1965 and a freshman orientation from 1962. And, awards convocations from 1983 (as suppl material of commencement program), 1984 and 1999. Missing from our Archives are commencement programs for: 1943, 1948, 1966, and 1967. Dec 1999 is a photocopy.
