About the Collection
Collection preserves images by the photographer Vann E. Hettinger. On May 20th 1958 he photographed fire that consumed Adler’s Dept. Store on Broughton Street. The Savannah Morning News called it the worst downtown fire since 1889 and Adler’s a landmark for shoppers for 70 years. Vann E.
