Relevance

Team sports and caring adults help give kids a "WHY" which is the key for improved academic achievement. A chlid who has a "WHY" will be hard to stop and will overcome almost any obstacle that they may have. Team sports and one caring adult will help lower anxious/depression, withdrawn/depressed , social problems, thought problems and attention problems. Team sports help lower obesity, improve muscular strength and increase self-esteem. When a child has an adult that doesn't have limiting beliefs about his or her potential ceiling the sky is the limit.

Brief Program Description

When team sports are combined with one adult(Synergy) you can give a child a "Why". Also when you committ to not use limiting beliefs or make judgements about a child's future the sky is the limit. Using the Goldfish principles amazing outcomes will happen!

Summary

Participants will be shown and given a copy of NIH study that shows clear data that specifically, "children and adolescents who played team sports were less likely to experience symptoms of anxiety and depression, withdrawal, social problems, thought problems, attentional problems, and rule-breaking behavior (among females only). https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9159603/

"The single most common factor for children who develop resilience is at least one stable and committed relationship with a supportive parent, caregiver, or other adult."

The participants will take part in a Nearpod activity in which they will watch a short 5 minute video from Josh Shipp with a fun time to climb activity and quiz for assement.

I will then share 3 personal success stories that will motivate and encourage members to fight limiting beliefs and have a break out/brainstorming session in which they will identify a child that they have a limiting belief and see how they can use synergy with team sports and one caring adult to make a change.

Then I will have the participants make a "why" rock that will remind them of who and how they will help one child this year. Thinking maps will be used during the presentation to help retain and recall key points, along with a print out of the presentation.

Evidence

The single most common factor for children who develop resilience is at least one stable and committed relationship with a supportive parent, caregiver, or other adult. These relationships provide the personalized responsiveness, scaffolding, and protection that buffer children from developmental disruption. They also build key capacities—such as the ability to plan, monitor, and regulate behavior—that enable children to respond adaptively to adversity and thrive. This combination of supportive relationships, adaptive skill-building, and positive experiences is the foundation of resilience.

Participation in team sport compared to non-sport participation was associated with 10% lower anxious/depressed scores, 19% lower withdrawn/depressed scores, 17% lower social problems scores, 17% lower thought problems scores, and 12% lower attention problems scores. Participation in team sport compared to non-sport participation was also associated with 20% lower rule-breaking behavior scores for females (compared to males). https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9159603/ When team sports combined with one caring adult success rates increase(synergy) Multiple real life case studies (3) that will be shared from 25+ years as a public school teacher.
