Abstract
La pintura española Las meninas (1656) de Diego Velázquez ha sido examinada por especialistas de las artes y las ciencias. Esta propuesta didáctica invita a los estudiantes de español de los niveles B y C a practicar la lectura mediante las conexiones curriculares de la obra. Para ilustrar su potencial educativo, se conecta la pintura con más de veinte investigadores de distintas disciplinas. El diseño de las actividades se apoya en teóricos de la adquisición de segundas lenguas y en referentes de artes plásticas del Plan Curricular del Instituto Cervantes (2007) y abarca las competencias lingüísticas del Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para las Lenguas del Consejo de Europa (2002).
Bio Note
Nydia Jeffers has been a translator and a Spanish educator at universities and schools during the last twenty one years. She completed a Bachelor´s degree in English Philology, a Master´s degree in Spanish as a Foreign Language and a Doctorate in Hispanic Literature with the dissertation entitled The Black Protagonist in Antislavery Latin American Literature. Dr. Jeffers has published a dozen of articles about Iberian and Latin American Literature, specially, around the subjects of race, childhood and psychology.
